Two Casino Operators Secure Belgian Licenses

April 2, 2012 Leave a comment

Online casino operators Golden Palace and Win2Day have been granted internet casino licenses by the Belgian government.

Golden Palace’s website in Belgium apparently has no relationship with GoldenPalace.com, as the site is blacklisted by the Belgian Government. The company’s new license covers land based operations in addition to its online business.

Win2Day has been primarily involved with poker in Australia and will be competing with fellow poker sites Casino777, Partouche, and Party Poker.

The two new white listed operators contrast to the twenty new operators that were blocked by the Belgian government. Some of the brands now banned in the European country include Everest, 888, Winamax, and Chilipoker.

Stamkos versus Ovechkin Battle for Supremacy on NHL Hockey Betting Lines

April 1, 2012 Leave a comment

Two of the greatest players in the game right now face off this Monday in an important NHL hockey betting game as the Washington Capitals travel to face their Southeast Division rivals in the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Alex Ovechkin has been widely criticized this season. After a disastrously slow start to the season, many blamed him as the main reason for Bruce Boudreau’s firing. He has picked things up as of late, scoring a goal per game on average, and actually may be a 40-goal scorer. This, somehow, is still likely to be a disappointment.

Steven Stamkos, who reached the 50-goal plateau for the second time in his young career last week, is already approaching 60. The only other player to do that this century is – you guessed it – Ovechkin, when he scored 65 in 2007-08.

The Capitals are desperately trying to make the playoffs and if they do, it will likely be as either the third-seed as Southeast champs, or the eighth-seed. Either way, they will be threatening.

However, based on their current position in the standings, Washington has 35/1 betting odds to win the Stanley Cup on the NHL betting futures list. Bet on the NHL now. Continue..

NBA Basketball Betting Odds Witness Knicks Trying to Keep Pace with Hawks

March 29, 2012 Leave a comment

The NBA basketball betting lines and playoff races are heating up, and two Eastern Conference contenders in the Atlanta Hawks and New York Knicks will meet this Friday in Georgia with each team looking to gain ground in the standings.

This is the second of three meetings between the Knicks and Hawks. Late in February – right in the middle of Lin-Sanity – New York took a 99-82 victory at home. Lin had a team-high 17 points in the game, as did Steve Novak. Amar’e Stoudemire contributed 10 boards. For the Hawks, Jeff Teaque had 18 points while Willie Green contributed 16 in the loss.

Both these teams have played incredibly well as of late, as each tries to hold onto the lower seeds in the East. Atlanta and Indiana are battling for the fifth and sixth seeds, which essentially is coming down to who wants to play Orlando and who wants Philadelphia in the first round of the playoffs.

New York is struggling to stay ahead of surging Milwaukee for eighth. There is a lot on the line for both teams in this game.

Despite their spots in the standings, the Hawks have 50/1 betting odds on the NBA futures list compared to the Knicks’ 25/1 odds. Think that is enough for them to take out Lin and Melo? Bet on the NBA now.

Last Black Friday Defendant Pleads Guilty

March 28, 2012 Leave a comment

The last remaining defendant in the Black Friday ordeal will plead guilty today after cutting a plea bargain with federal authorities.

John Campos, a former bank executive for SunFirst Bank in Utah will plead guilty to a single misdemeanor banking charge when he goes in front of the judge in U.S. federal court in New York. His lawyer called the plea an “excellent resolution” to the case that was brought against his client.

The government alleges that SunFirst Bank processed money for poker sites Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars, both of which were hit heavily by the Department of Justice last year.

Campos was scheduled to go to trial next month along with co-defendant Chad Elie, who also plead guilty to his crimes on Monday. The duo joins Absolute Poker Co-Founder Brent Beckley and payment processors Ira Rubin, Ryan Lang, and Bradley Franzen, who all also plead guilty to their roles in their online poker scheme.

Black Friday Defendant Pleads Guilty Two Weeks Before Trial

March 27, 2012 Leave a comment

A former e-payment processor who was indicted in the Black Friday charges suddenly plead guilty to the charges he was facing in a New York courtroom, two weeks before his trial was scheduled to begin.

Chad Elie plead guilty to conspiracy and admitted that he worked as a payment processor for the poker companies that were brought down on Black Friday. His guilty plea was unexpected, and the recent news that Elie’s former partner Daniel Tzvetkoff was going to testify against Elie may have been a factor in his change of stance.

With the guilty plea, only former bank executive John Campos remains awaiting justice, although prosecutors indicated that they are in discussions with Campos’ attorneys to determine whether the last defendant will face jail time if found guilty. The eleven other defendants besides Campos and Elie all pled guilty to their Black Friday related crimes.

When he is sentenced on October 3rd, Elie could face up to 12 months in prison. He will also forfeit $500,000 in profits he made as a result of his crimes as well as his interest in $25 million being held in payment processing accounts.

MLB Baseball Betting Line Injuries Mounting Early for Star-Studded Phillies

March 25, 2012 Leave a comment

Despite recent shortcomings in the postseason, the Philadelphia Phillies are looking scarier and scarier from year to year. 2012 will be no exception as the leaders on the MLB baseball betting line have added more star power in a bid for another World Series championship.

The Phillies have won the NL East five years in a row, including winning the World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays, but have performed categorically worse in their past four showings in the postseason.

With both Ryan Howard and Chase Utley likely out for Opening Day, the latter possibly to be replaced by rookie Freddy Galvis, so the offense might not be as powerful as it has been.

But when your pitching rotation features the likes of Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee and Cole Hamels, and now with Jonathan Papelbon closing out games, a ton of offense may not be necessary.

Bodog has set Philly’s MLB baseball betting futures at odds of 11/2, followed closely behind by the New York Yankees – 13/2, Los Angeles Angels – 7/1 – and the Detroit Tigers – 8/1. The next National League team on the list is the San Francisco Giants at betting odds of 15/1.
