Norwood Poker 100 raises £85,000

Playboy Club hosts big-money tournament for charity

Poker players aren’t known for their charitable intentions, but this December 100 generous amateurs banded together for the second annual Norwood Poker 100 event in London’s prestigious Playboy Club, raising £85,000 for thousands of children and families in need.

The Triple Chance No-Limit event cost £125 to play in, and with competitors not shy when it came to rebuys and add-ons, the action was fast and loose throughout. And despite the great cause, there were no shortage of worthwhile prizes up for grabs, from iPads to £5,000 Rolexs.

Players also had the chance to win luxury boat trip as part of an exclusive draw, and a trip to Los Angeles, featuring a visit to the Playboy Mansion, during a silent auction. The event, organised by Mark Pollack, Gary Bluston, and Nitzan Yaniv, and sponsored by Simon Lewis, David Wolff and Graham Edwards, was eventually won by Edwards, who in keeping with the theme of the evening, generously donated the £6,000 prize money back to Norwood.

‘This year’s Norwood Poker 100 tournament was another incredible success and I’d like to thank all those who helped us to put on such an amazing evening, especially our sponsors and all those who donated prizes,’ said Mark Pollack, Chairman of the Norwood Poker Committee.

‘The funds we raised are vital if Norwood is to continue providing life-changing services to the thousands of vulnerable people with learning disabilities, and children and families in need, who rely on its support each year.’
