Cleveland Awaits Orlando Or Boston – Online Casino News

After another week of action, the Cleveland Cavaliers remain as the bookmakers’ pick to win it all this season and be crowned the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) 2009 champions.

The men’s professional basketball post-season got underway last month with the 16 best teams, eight from each of the NBA’s two conferences, competing against a league rival in a best-of-seven series. The eight winners then moved on to the conference semi-finals where the four victors will go to a conference final before the two remaining teams, one each from the Eastern and Western Conference, meet in the NBA Final beginning on June 4.

The Cavaliers defeated the Detroit Pistons in the first round last month before sweeping the Atlanta Hawks in only four games and now stand at odds of 4/6 with ExtraBet.com to win its first-ever NBA title. The Ohio team started the week at odds of 10/11 with Ladbrokes.com but this has improved to 8/11 while BoyleSports.com is offering 20/27 followed by BetFred.com, SportingBet.com, VictorChandler.com and StanJames.com with 4/5.

Betfair.com had been offering the Eastern Conference team at odds of 7/5 but this has now dropped to 11/10 while bettors at PaddyPower.com and WilliamHill.com can currently get 5/6.

Remaining in second spot are last year’s beaten finalists, the Los Angeles Lakers, who began the post-season as favourites but have suffered as a result of struggling to overcome the Houston Rockets in the conference semi-finals. The Lakers lead the Houston Rockets by three games to two going into tonight’s match-up with SportingBet.com, PaddyPower.com and Ladbrokes.com currently offering Evens that the Californians will win it all this season. Bettors can get odds of 11/10 from StanJames.com, VictorChandler.com and BetFred.com on the Lakers winning their 15th NBA title in 2009 followed by 6/5 from BoyleSports.com and 5/4 at WilliamHill.com.

A good outside bet could be last year’s champions, the Boston Celtics, who began the post-season at odds of 15/2 with PaddyPower.com followed by 8/1 with SkyBet.com and SportingBet.com. Boston currently leads the Orlando Magic by three games to two going into tonight’s conference semi-finals match-up and punters can get odds of 12/1 from VictorChandler.com that 2009 will mark the Massachusetts franchise’s 18th NBA title.
